Outdoor Learning

At Ludwick, we believe that our outdoor space…

 Connects children with nature

Provides opportunities to take risk

Encourages challenge

Promotes wellbeing and reflection

Removes restraints and limits

Nurtures curiosity and imagination

Supports all curriculum areas

Embeds our values of respect, trust, kindness and courage

Our outdoor space connects children with nature, providing them with opportunities to take risks and challenge themselves whilst promoting wellbeing and respect.

Outdoor learning is an essential part of our curriculum. We have a wonderful nursery garden for the children to explore, play and learn in.  Children access the garden daily through-out the year and in all weathers. We ask parents to support us in making sure the children are properly clothed for all seasons. We help by providing splash suits, fleeces, coats and wellies.

Our wonderful garden has a ‘wildwood’ climbing area, a large slide, a mud kitchen, bike track, ‘peace’ garden, reading shed and pebble beach. We put much thought and time into ensuring we provide a space where the children can learn and develop in a challenging and exciting environment.

As well as accessing the garden, children attend regular Forest School sessions and we also make use of the wider community and go for regular walks.
