Using campfires as part of the early curriculum provides rich learning opportunities that not only support the development of children’s listening and attention skills, but also provides children with sensory experiences to aid their well being.
This session will support you with the necessary skills to safely offer campfire experiences as part of your early years curriculum. Participants will have the opportunity to develop their pedagogical understanding of the outdoor curriculum, be supported to write risk assessments and have the chance to set up and cook on a bonfire.
Trainer: Steven Musk is Senior Teacher at Ludwick Nursery School. He leads on outdoor learning and is a qualified Forest School Practitioner.
