Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP)
The Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) provides additional funding for eligible 3 and 4-year-old children accessing their funded early education entitlement. The funding is intended to support children's learning, development and wellbeing and help reduce gaps in attainment.
EYPP may be available for children whose parents receive certain qualifying benefits. It is also available for children who have left local authority care through adoption, a Special Guardianship Order or a Child Arrangements Order.
At Ludwick Nursery School, we use EYPP funding to enhance children's learning, development and wellbeing, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to achieve their full potential and make the best possible progress. Funding may contribute towards targeted interventions, additional resources, enrichment experiences and bespoke support programmes designed to meet children's individual needs.
We continually monitor children's progress through observations, assessment and regular discussions between key persons, teachers and families. This enables us to evaluate the impact of the support provided and ensure that funding is used effectively to improve outcomes for eligible children.
While EYPP is available for eligible 3 and 4-year-olds, separate funding arrangements are available for eligible 2-year-olds through the funded two-year-old entitlement. These funding streams help ensure that children receive the support they need at the earliest opportunity.
We encourage all families to complete the relevant section of our funding declaration form when their child joins the nursery. This allows us to check eligibility and claim any funding to which your child may be entitled. Eligibility checks are completed securely using information provided by parents and carers, including a National Insurance Number or National Asylum Support Service (NASS) number where applicable.
Accessing EYPP funding helps us to provide the very best opportunities for our children and supports our commitment to ensuring every child receives the strongest possible start to their education.
If you would like us to check whether your child may be eligible for Early Years Pupil Premium or other early education funding, please speak to the school office, who will be happy to help.
